Obtaining the Dashboard Embed Code

note

IT Visibility is being upgraded with the introduction of Technology Intelligence Platform beginning in September 2024. Flexera will contact you directly regarding the timeframe of your upgrade. With Technology Intelligence Platform, out-of-the-box IT Visibility dashboards are being replaced with new, enhanced IT Visibility Technology Intelligence Platform reports. For more information, see IT Visibility With Technology Intelligence Platform Reports..

Your current custom and out-of-the-box dashboards will remain available for 6 weeks after your organization has been upgraded to Technology Intelligence Platform. During this time frame, you will be able to recreate your custom views in the new reporting capability. At the end of this time frame, access to all previous IT Visibility dashboarding capabilities will be removed.

You can use the Embed option to generate either an HTML snippet to create an inline frame (Iframe) that contains the embedded dashboard or to generate a URL you can use to embed the dashboard yourself. In the Embed dashboard dialog box, you can also configure some aspects of how the embedded dashboard will be rendered. These configuration options allow you to choose whether or not the dashboard will include the navigation panel, use a custom height, or apply designated filters to the dashboard content.

note

To embed/view a dashboard into a different tool/environment, you must be logged in to Flexera One. Users who are not logged in to Flexera One are prompted to log in before the embedded dashboard will be rendered.

To obtain the embed code:

  1. Open the dashboard you want to embed.

  2. Click Embed. This opens the Embed dashboard dialog box.

  3. In the Embed dashboard dialog box, set configuration options to determine how the dashboard will be rendered.

  4. Click the three dots icon () in the top right corner.

    OptionDescription
Navigation PanelClick the switch to include or exclude the Navigation Panel in the embedded dashboard. The Navigation Panel lists built-in IT Visibility dashboards plus any custom IT Visibility dashboards the logged-in user has saved in Flexera One. Default: On (Navigation Panel included)
Custom HeightClick the switch to include or exclude a Custom Height setting in the embed code. When Custom Height is on, the embedded dashboard is configured with a fixed height of the number of pixels you set (default: 700px). When Custom Height is off, the embedded dashboard height will be influenced by the size of the frame or container in which the dashboard is embedded. <!--Mark, is my description of the behavior sound? Also, there may be a bug in the Iframe HTML we generate. I’m seeing the custom height pixels expressed twice in the HTML, and I’m not sure why that would be so.--JML--> Default: On and set to 700px (Custom Height set within Flexera One)
Filter by TagsClick the switch to set filters for the content to be displayed in the embedded dashboard. When Filter by Tags is on, you can identify a number of tags to govern whether particular attributes, metrics, and dates are either shown or hidden in the embedded dashboard. Include —Click Include to show attributes, metrics, and dates identified by the tags you specify. Exclude —Click Exclude to hide attributes, metrics, and dates identified by the tags you specify. Tags —Enter tags associated with the attributes, metrics, and dates you want to be shown (Include) or hidden (Exclude) in the embedded dashboard. Default: Off (No tags/filters applied)
  5. Copy the embed code that corresponds to how you plan to embed the dashboard.

  6. Choose either the Iframe tab or the URL tab.

    • Iframe —Use the Iframe tab to copy an HTML snippet you can use on a web page to create the inline frame in which the dashboard will be rendered and identify the dashboard to embed along with its configuration options.

    • URL —Use URL tab to copy the URL for the dashboard to embed along with its configuration options.

  7. Click Copy Iframe or Copy URL depending on the tab you chose.

Flexera One copies the embed code to the clipboard on your device. You can paste this code into an existing web page or in a location appropriate for the tool or environment in which you are embedding the dashboard.
